The Town of Huntsville will hold a public hearing on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. regarding:
Ordinance 26-08-01 – Amending the 2026–2027 Fiscal Year Budget
The public is invited to attend.
CUSTOMERS – CASH ROUNDING POLICY
Due to the discontinuation of the penny, the Town of Huntsville has adopted a cash rounding policy in accordance with Tennessee law.
What this means:
•Cash transactions may be rounded to the nearest 5 cents only when exact change is not available
•Payments made by card, check, or online will not be rounded
Rounding Examples:
•1¢ or 2¢ → rounded down
•3¢ or 4¢ → rounded up
•6¢ or 7¢ → rounded down
•8¢ or 9¢ → rounded up
Important:
•Taxes are calculated on the exact amount before rounding
•Pennies are still accepted as legal tender
•Customers are encouraged to use exact change or electronic payment methods to minimize rounding

The Town of Huntsville Mayor and Board of Aldermen will meet Thursday April 17th, 2025 at 6:00 pm at the Huntsville Municipal Building to have the second reading of Ordinance No. 25-02-01. An ordinance to amend title 8 of the Town of Huntsville Municipal code by establishing liquor regulations and amending beer regulations.
